B&B Reviews

This is a really fabulous place to stay for anyone driving the NC500. Cannot fault this B&B! It is immaculately clean and tidy with superb facilities. The owners are really lovely - full of hints and tips for exploring the local area. Breakfast was a lovely spread of cereals, fruit, juice's and toast laid out in the dining room. Location was very quiet and dark - no light pollution - making the skies dramatic at night. It is close to a beach where there are common seals and sea otters for anyone interested in wildlife watching. There is a very good restaurant nearby and several take away premises in the village.

Exceptional. 10/10. We had our very own self-contained area with bedroom kitchen and seating area. Everything you could need has been catered for, it was clean warm and really welcoming.

Fantastic scenery, lovely hosts, clean and comfortable room. Would happily stay there again

It was extremely clean and tidy. There was absolutely everything we needed for our stay. We asked for something special for breakfast due to food intolerance and they provided it. As soon as we arrived they asked about our plans for dinner and they booked us a table at a lovely place (and the food was gorgeous!).

We spent a wonderful two-night stay at The Sheiling; Annabel and Norman were very sympathetic and we really enjoyed talking to them. We even received some tips about the perfect spot to see seals! The room was perfect, as was the breakfast! Thank you again!

We spent 3 nights at Annabel's during our trip in Scotland. Annabel and he husband Norman are extremely welcoming and very nice people. They gave us a lot of advices about sightseeing close by. The room has everything you might need for your stay and the breakfast is full and very tasty. Thank you Annabel for everything!

Annabel and Norman were extremely welcoming and their B&B is very comfortable and well-appointed. The setting is beautiful and we had wall-to-wall sunshine (not guaranteed all year!). You will need a car but it's not far to a good shop and hotels. Particularly recommended for meals - Aultbea Hotel.

Stay here if you're in the area. Also plan to stay longer than 1 night because the area is full of natural beauty. This place is outstanding with wonderful hosts. They are extremely knowledgeable about the area and will even help you make plans for restaurants and places to see. Lastly the breakfast is an added bonus to start your day.

Dear Annabel & Norman

We have really appreciated our stay and we thank you for the warm welcome you provided. To see seals, birds at Handa and Killer whales was a great experience. We keep a good souvenir of our time at Laide and will inform the travel agent we used of our satisfaction. I am full of nostalgia at the thought of all the fascinating scenery of your country which is as moving as its history. The stringent cleanliness of your well thought out home and its remarkably carried out decoration have also contributed to our very satisfying holidays. Your warm welcome made its mark on me and I will not forget you.
